Hey there, Reader!

The trailer and first episode of the Living With Loss Podcast are live! This week, we’re reflecting on the question, “What are you afraid to know?” This question is powerful, whether you’re experiencing grief and loss or not.

Oftentimes, the things we’re most afraid of aren’t outside of us. They’re within us, created by our thoughts. We might avoid things because we’re trying to avoid an uncomfortable truth. By asking this question, we can learn so much about what’s driving our actions (or inaction). By getting really honest, and exploring what you’re afraid to know, you can shine a light on an area that may require some time, attention, and compassion. This is particularly important for healing grief.

The question, “What are you afraid to know?” was one that I asked myself as I explored focusing my coaching practice on grief and loss. I uncovered a lot by asking myself, not just once, but again and again, and it’s a story I share in this week’s episode.

Asking yourself the same question several times will help you go deeper. Another option is to ask yourself the question, and then ask, “why” or “what am I making that mean” when you come up with your initial answer. With all inquiry, it’s important to explore what comes up beyond your initial responses.

With love,
Adrienne
